2019 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election

Think about choosing captains for your sports team or leaders for your class. In Jharkhand, a place in India, people got to vote for who they wanted to represent them in a special meeting place called the Legislative Assembly. There were 81 spots to fill, like seats on a very important bus!

This election happened over a few weeks in November and December of 2019, and everyone was excited to see who would win.

The grown-ups in Jharkhand had to pick their leaders before the old team's time was up. Their old team's time was supposed to end on December 27th, 2019. So, the voting started on November 30th, 2019, and finished on December 20th, 2019. It was like a big, important game that lasted for a few weeks! The winners were announced just a few days later, on December 23rd, 2019.

This election was super important because the people chosen get to make rules and decisions that affect everyone in Jharkhand. They decide things like where to build new schools, how to keep the roads safe, and what to do about helping people. It’s like choosing the people who decide what games you play at recess and how the playground is built. Their choices shape how everyone lives!

Lots of people wanted to be chosen to represent their towns and villages. They had to tell everyone why they would be good leaders.
