2004 Preston City Council Election

Preston is a town in a place called Lancashire, in England. It's like a neighborhood in a big country! Imagine a big playground, and Preston is one part of it. It has streets, houses, and places where people work and play. It's not a super-duper big city like London, but it's a busy and important place for the people who live there.

In 2004, grown-ups in Preston got to choose who would be on the City Council. This is like picking the captains for your team! Everyone's vote helped decide who won!

On June 10th, 2004, it was election day! This year was extra special because everyone voted by mail, like sending a letter! No one had to go to a special building. The Labour team won 7 places, and the Conservative team also won 7 places. The Liberal Democrats won 3 places. It was a close race!
