Where is Yamanashi?

Yamanashi Prefecture is like a special box tucked inside Japan, on the big island called Honshu. It doesn't touch the ocean, so it's called landlocked! It has neighbors like Tokyo and Shizuoka.

Think of it as a secret hideaway surrounded by other prefectures, like friends holding hands. Most people live in a cozy spot called the Kōfu Basin, which is like a big, flat playground nestled between giant mountains.

Home of Giants!

Get ready to be amazed! Yamanashi is home to some of Japan's tallest mountains. The most famous one is Mount Fuji, which is so tall it looks like it's touching the sky!

Part of this super-tall mountain is right in Yamanashi. Imagine standing next to a mountain that's taller than 100 giraffes stacked on top of each other! Because of all these mountains, a lot of Yamanashi is protected as beautiful natural parks, like giant, wild gardens.

Yummy Fruits and Busy Bees

Yamanashi is famous for growing the most delicious fruits! They grow lots of juicy grapes, sweet peaches, and bright red cherries. Imagine a whole picnic basket filled with these yummy treats!

The farmers work hard to grow them. People in Yamanashi also make things, like cars and machines. It's a place where nature gives amazing gifts, and people use their skills to make and grow wonderful things.

A Place to Learn and Grow

In Yamanashi, kids go to school just like you! They learn reading, writing, and math. There are schools for little kids, bigger kids, and even grown-ups who want to learn more.

The capital city, Kōfu, is where lots of schools and important buildings are. It's a place where everyone gets a chance to learn new things and grow up to do amazing jobs, whether it's farming, making things, or even exploring the mountains!
