XIX International Chopin Piano Competition

Get ready for a piano party that's HUGE! The XIX International Chopin Piano Competition was like the Olympics for pianists. It happened in Poland, the home of the famous composer Frédéric Chopin. Lots and lots of super talented people from all over the world came to play the piano like magic. They practiced for years and years to be the best!

This amazing piano contest took place in October 2025. It was a really important time because it kicked off 100 years of celebrating Chopin's music! Think of it like a giant birthday party that lasts a whole century. So many people wanted to join, they had to pick from over 600 applicants. That's more kids than in a whole school!

To win, pianists had to play three rounds of music, each one harder than the last! In the final round, they had to play a special, tricky piece called the Polonaise-Fantaisie, and then a big, grand concerto with a whole orchestra! That's like a superhero needing to do a super-fast race AND lift a giant building.

The winners were Eric Lu from the USA, Kevin Chen from Canada, and Zitong Wang from China.
