Meet the Giant Blue Blanket!

Imagine wrapping our whole planet in a giant, sparkly blue blanket. That’s kind of like the World Ocean! It’s one enormous body of water that connects all the land.

It covers more than 70% of Earth, which is like having more than two-thirds of your bedroom floor covered in water! It’s so big that if you tried to walk across it, you’d be walking forever. It’s home to playful dolphins, giant whales, and tiny glowing fish.

What's Under the Waves?

The ocean floor isn't flat like a pancake! It has mountains taller than any on land, deep valleys, and even underwater volcanoes that can erupt with hot lava. Some parts are shallow and sunny, perfect for colorful coral reefs where tiny fish hide.

Other parts are super deep and dark, like the deepest part of your house, where strange creatures with their own lights swim around. It’s a whole other world down there!

Ocean's Superpowers!

The ocean is like Earth's air conditioner and heater! It helps control our weather, making sure it’s not too hot or too cold. When the sun shines on the ocean, it makes water vapor that floats up and becomes clouds, which then bring us rain. So, the ocean helps make sure we have water to drink and helps plants grow. It’s also a superhighway for ships carrying toys and food all around the world!

Ocean Friends and Fun!

Millions of people live near the ocean and love to swim, surf, and build sandcastles. Fishermen go out on boats to catch fish for dinner. Scientists study the ocean to learn about new animals and how to keep it clean. The ocean gives us yummy seafood and beautiful beaches to play on. It’s a busy, exciting place that’s super important for everyone on Earth!
