Wood–plastic composite

Have you ever seen a park bench or a fence that looks like wood but is super tough? That might be a wood-plastic composite, or WPC for short! It's like a special recipe where tiny bits of wood are mixed with plastic.

Think of it like making a yummy cookie, but instead of flour and sugar, we use wood dust and plastic bits. This mix makes something new that's strong and lasts a long time, even when it’s outside in the rain or sun.

People have been using wood for thousands of years to build houses and make things. They also figured out how to make plastic. For a long time, wood and plastic were used separately.

But clever scientists and inventors wondered, 'What if we mixed them?' They started experimenting, and around the 1990s, they got really good at making these wood-plastic mixes. Now, WPCs are used for all sorts of things because they are so useful!
