Where the Mountains Kiss the Sky!

Waterton Lakes National Park is like a giant playground in the corner of Canada, way down in the southwest of Alberta. It's so special that it even touches another park in the United States! This park is a mix of tall, rocky mountains and wide-open grassy lands.

It's a place where you can see amazing views and feel like you're on top of the world. The park is about the size of a big city, with lots of room for animals to roam and trees to grow tall.

A Park with a Long, Long Story!

This amazing park wasn't always called Waterton. A super long time ago, in 1895, it started as a special forest area. Later, people decided it was so beautiful and important that it needed to be a national park, like a protected treasure!

It got its name from a lake, which was named after a man named Charles Waterton who loved nature very much. He wanted to make sure wild places like this were kept safe for everyone to enjoy.

Super Cool Nature Surprises!

Waterton is packed with all sorts of amazing nature. You can find mountains that are super tall, reaching almost as high as 30 giraffes stacked on top of each other! The park has different kinds of weather, from warm sunny days to snowy winter fun.

It's home to many different plants and animals, making it a super diverse place. There are even special trails, like the Crypt Lake trail, that lead you to hidden gems within the park.

Fun for Everyone!

Lots and lots of people love visiting Waterton! In the summer, when the weather is nice, it's like a big party with visitors from all over. There's a small town inside the park where you can find places to eat and stay. People come to hike on the trails, see the beautiful lakes, and breathe in the fresh mountain air. It's a place where families can make wonderful memories together.
