Meet the Giant School!

The University of Southern California, or USC for short, is like a super-duper big school in Los Angeles, California. It's a private school, which means it's not run by the government, and it's been around for a super long time! It's so big that over 47,000 students go there.

That's more kids than could fit in a huge stadium! It has lots of different buildings where students learn all sorts of cool things, from art to science.

A Super-Old Schoolhouse

USC started way back in 1880. That's so long ago that horse-drawn carriages were the main way to get around! It was started by a person named Robert M.

Widney. Think of it like the very first big private school in all of California. Over the years, it grew and grew, adding more schools and welcoming students from all over the United States and even from other countries.

It's like a tree that started small and grew into a giant!

Where Champions Are Made!

USC is famous for its amazing sports teams, called the Trojans! Their athletes have won so many awards, it's hard to count. They've won over 100 championships in different sports. Even more amazing, Trojan athletes have won hundreds of medals at the Olympic Games, more than any other school in America! That's like winning a medal for every day of the year, and then some!

Learning Superpowers!

At USC, students learn all sorts of things that help them get special 'superpowers' for their future. They have a main college for arts and science, and then 22 other schools for different kinds of learning. Some students learn to be doctors, some learn to be artists, and some learn to be scientists.

They also have a special group called the Association of American Universities, which means they are really good at doing important research.
