University of Iowa

The University of Iowa is like a super big school in a city called Iowa City. It's the oldest and biggest university in the whole state of Iowa! It has many different buildings where students learn all sorts of cool things, like how to be doctors, writers, or even scientists. It's a place where people go to learn and discover new ideas.

This university started a long, long time ago, way back in 1847. That's even before your grandparents' grandparents were born! It was the very first university in Iowa. Over the years, it grew bigger and bigger, adding more buildings and more ways for people to learn. It's been a place of learning for many, many generations.

The University of Iowa has some amazing superpowers! It's a place where scientists do lots of research, which means they try to figure out new things about the world. They even invented a special degree for artists and writers called the MFA. Plus, many famous writers who won big awards, like the Pulitzer Prize, studied here!

There are about 32,000 students who go to this university, which is more people than can fit in a big stadium! They can join almost 500 different clubs, which is like having a club for every single hobby you can imagine. They also have sports teams called the Iowa Hawkeyes, and they play exciting games!
