The United States Postal Service, or USPS, is like a giant mail-carrying team for the whole country! The USPS has some cool superpowers! They are the ONLY ones allowed to deliver regular letters to mailboxes that say "U.S. Mail." They also have to deliver mail everywhere in the country, even to places that are hard to reach. This is called a "universal service obligation." It means everyone, everywhere, gets the same chance to send and receive mail.

While the USPS is the boss of delivering letters, they also deliver packages! But for packages, they have to share the road with other delivery companies like UPS and FedEx.
