Where the Sun Shines Bright!

The Turks and Caicos Islands are like a string of pearls dropped in the big, blue Atlantic Ocean. They are made of two groups of islands: the Caicos Islands and the Turks Islands. These islands are warm and sunny almost all year round, perfect for playing outside!

They are located southeast of the Bahamas, which are like their neighbors. The water here is super clear and a beautiful turquoise color, making it a great place to see colorful fish.

Long, Long Ago on These Islands

People have lived on these islands for hundreds and hundreds of years! Long before anyone else arrived, the Taíno people called these islands home. Then, explorers from far away discovered them.

Over time, different countries wanted to claim the islands, but eventually, the British became in charge. For a long time, they were looked after by other islands, but now they have their very own leader called a governor!

Fun Things People Do Here!

Most people on the Turks and Caicos Islands love the ocean! Many work in jobs that have to do with visitors who come to enjoy the beautiful beaches and clear water. Some people work in shops, restaurants, or hotels. Others work on boats, taking people snorkeling or fishing. It's a place where people work together to make sure everyone has a wonderful time enjoying the sunshine and the sea.

Island School Days!

Kids on the Turks and Caicos Islands go to school just like you do! They learn reading, writing, and math. They also learn about their islands, the ocean, and the animals that live there. Because it's an island, they might learn a lot about boats and the sea. The schools help children grow up to be smart and helpful members of their island community, learning all sorts of interesting things.
