It was a place where people built their homes and their dreams, just like in any other town. But sadly, this amazing place faced a terrible event.

When Things Went Wrong

One day, a misunderstanding happened between a young Black man and a white woman. Sadly, this small event grew into something much bigger and scarier. So many homes and shops were burned down, and sadly, many people were hurt or even lost their lives. It was one of the worst times of unfairness and violence in America's story.

Remembering and Learning

Even though it was a very sad and difficult time, people in Tulsa and all over decided it was important to remember what happened. They wanted to make sure everyone knew about the brave people of 'Black Wall Street' and the unfairness they faced. Learning about this helps us understand how to be kinder and fairer to everyone today.
