Tshopo

Tshopo is a special place in the country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, way over in Africa! It's like a big puzzle piece in the middle of the country. A super important river, called the Tshopo River, flows right through it. This river is so important that the whole place is named after it! It's a land of green trees and flowing water, perfect for adventures.

Tshopo is a pretty new place! It used to be part of a much bigger area called Orientale province. But then, in 2015, they decided to make it its own special province. Think of it like getting your own room in a house instead of sharing a big one! This means Tshopo can now focus on all the amazing things happening there.

Guess how many people live in Tshopo? It's a lot! Imagine filling up a giant playground with people, and then filling up another one, and another one, and then some more! In 2020, there were almost 3 million people living there. That's more people than you can count on your fingers and toes for a very, very long time!

The main city in Tshopo is called Kisangani. It's a very busy place where lots of people live and work. Kisangani is also the capital, which means it's like the 'headquarters' of Tshopo province. Even though Tshopo became its own province, Kisangani stayed a super important city and is the capital of this new land.
