A New Name for the Boss!
After many years, in 1721, a new ruler named Peter I decided to change things up. He started calling himself an Emperor and changed the country's name to the Russian Empire. Even though the official title changed, people still sometimes called the Emperor 'Tsar' because it was such a well-known and powerful name!
