Where the Ocean Meets the Sky!

Tokelau is a super special place made of three tiny islands, like little jewels in the big Pacific Ocean. They are so small, all three together are only as big as about two soccer fields! These islands are called atolls, which means they are made of coral that grew up from the sea floor. The sun shines bright here, and the water is warm and blue, perfect for swimming and playing.

A Tiny Home for Friendly People!

Only about 2,500 people live in Tokelau. That's like a small school! Most people speak a language called Tokelauan, which sounds like music. They are very friendly and love to share their home. Even though the islands are small, the people have big hearts and a strong community. They are proud of their home and take good care of it.

Sunshine Power!

Guess what? Tokelau is super smart about energy! They use the power of the sun to make electricity for everyone. They have solar panels everywhere, like giant sunglasses for the islands. This means they don't need to burn yucky fuel. They were the first country in the whole world to be powered completely by the sun! How cool is that?

Island Leaders!

The people of Tokelau get to choose their leaders every three years, like voting for class president! They have their own government, and they make their own rules. They are a free and democratic place, even though New Zealand helps them with some things. They are like a little team working together to make their islands the best they can be.
