Theodosius I

Imagine a super-important leader of a giant empire! That was Theodosius I. He was born a long, long time ago, around the year 347. He became the boss of the Roman Empire, which was like the biggest, most powerful country in the world back then. He was a very busy emperor, making big decisions for everyone.

The Roman Empire was so huge that it was often split into two parts: the West and the East. Theodosius was special because he was the only emperor for a while who got to be in charge of BOTH parts! Think of it like being the captain of two different sports teams at the same time. He had to make sure both sides were happy and safe.

One of the most important things Theodosius did was make Christianity the main religion of the Roman Empire. Before him, people believed in many different gods. Theodosius declared that everyone should follow Christianity. This changed the empire a lot and made churches super important places.

Theodosius I is often called the last emperor who truly ruled the whole Roman Empire. After he died, the empire was split again, and it stayed that way. He was a very powerful leader who left a big mark on history, especially by making Christianity the official religion. His decisions helped shape the world we live in today.
