Key Facts
Where is Ōta?
Ōta is a special part of Tokyo, Japan's amazing capital city. It's like a big neighborhood that's part of a giant puzzle called Tokyo Metropolis. To the north, it has neighbors like Shinagawa and Setagaya.
To the east, it touches Kōtō. If you go south, across a river called the Tama River, you'll find another city called Kawasaki. Ōta is the biggest of Tokyo's special wards, meaning it takes up a lot of space!
A Busy, Busy Place!
Ōta is super crowded, like a playground at recess with tons of kids! Over 744,000 people call Ōta home. That's more people than you can count on your fingers and toes for a very, very long time! It's also home to Haneda Airport, which is Japan's busiest airport. Imagine hundreds of airplanes taking off and landing every single day, carrying people all over the world!
What Makes Ōta Special?
Ōta is famous for a few cool things. One part called Kamata is like the town center where important buildings are. Another fancy area called Den-en-chōfu has beautiful, big houses where rich people live. But the most exciting thing is Haneda Airport! It's so busy that it's like a giant, non-stop party for airplanes. It helps people travel to faraway places like magic!
How Ōta Grew Up
Ōta wasn't always one big place. A long time ago, it was two separate areas called Ōmori and Kamata. Then, in 1947, they decided to join together to make the Ōta we know today. It's like when two friends decide to play together and become an even better team! This joining helped Ōta become the big, important place it is now.
