Where is This Giant Hug?

St. Peter's Square is like a super-duper big playground right in front of a very famous church called St. Peter's Basilica. This church is in a tiny country called Vatican City, which is inside a big city called Rome. It's a special place where the Pope lives! The square is named after Saint Peter, who was a very important friend of Jesus.

The Tallest Stone Stick!

Right in the middle of the square, there's a super old and super tall stone tower called an obelisk. It's like a giant pencil made of stone that came all the way from Egypt a super long time ago! It was moved to this spot in 1586. Imagine how many people it took to move something so big!

Arms of Mother Church

The square has amazing curved walkways made of big stone columns. They look like giant arms reaching out to welcome everyone! These arms were designed by a famous artist named Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He wanted it to feel like a warm hug from Mother Church. There are also two pretty fountains that sparkle in the sun.

A Place for Everyone

Lots and lots of people visit St. Peter's Square every year! It's a place where people gather for special events and to see the Pope. It's so big that it can hold thousands of people. It’s a place of wonder and a very important spot for many people around the world.
