Meet the Spinosaurus!

Spinosaurus was a super-duper big dinosaur that lived a super-duper long time ago, about 100 million years ago! Its name means 'spine lizard' because it had a giant sail on its back made of long spines. This sail could have been as tall as a grown-up!

It was one of the biggest meat-eating dinosaurs ever, even bigger than a Tyrannosaurus Rex! Spinosaurus had a long, skinny snout like a crocodile and sharp teeth for catching slippery fish.

Where Did This Dino Live?

This amazing dinosaur stomped around in a place that is now called North Africa, in countries like Egypt and Morocco. Back then, it was a very wet and warm place, full of rivers and forests, kind of like a giant swampy playground. Spinosaurus probably loved this watery home because it was a fantastic swimmer and spent a lot of time in the water looking for its next meal.

It shared its home with lots of other cool creatures like giant crocodiles and flying reptiles!

What Was Spinosaurus Like?

Spinosaurus was a real water-lover! Scientists think it spent so much time in the water that it might have been semi-aquatic, meaning it lived both on land and in water. Its bones were extra dense, which helped it float better in the water, like a built-in life jacket!

It ate lots of fish, but also other smaller dinosaurs and animals it could catch. The big sail on its back might have helped it stay cool or maybe even show off to other dinosaurs!

Spinosaurus's Superpowers!

One of the coolest things about Spinosaurus is its giant sail. It could have been used to help it swim better, or maybe to scare away other dinosaurs or attract a mate. It also had a long, paddle-like tail that helped it zoom through the water.

Imagine a dinosaur that could swim faster than you can run! Spinosaurus was a true master of its watery world, a giant hunter with a sail that made it stand out from all the other dinosaurs.
