He was known for his powerful punches and a jab that was like a lightning-fast punch. He was so tough, many people thought he was unbeatable in the boxing ring. Sonny Liston was born a long, long time ago, around the year 1930. He grew up and became a professional boxer in America. He started fighting in matches in 1953 and kept boxing for many years. He became the world champion in 1962, which is a super big deal in boxing! He won the championship by knocking out another boxer really fast, in just one round!

Sonny Liston was famous because he was incredibly strong and had a really long reach, meaning his arms were very long. This made him a scary opponent! He was so intimidating that he was known as one of the most fearsome fighters ever.

Even though he was a champion, he once fought a boxer named Muhammad Ali, who was much younger and wasn't expected to win. But Ali surprised everyone and beat Sonny!

After losing his championship, Sonny Liston had a rematch with Muhammad Ali. But something strange happened, and Sonny was knocked out very quickly. Some people wondered if the fight was fair. Later, Sonny Liston died in 1970. How he died was a bit of a mystery, which made people talk about him even more. He is still remembered as one of the greatest boxers ever!
