A WOW Fact
Israel destroyed almost all of Egypt's air force in just a few hours on the first day!

Why Were They So Grumpy?

Long ago, countries like Israel, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan didn't get along very well. They had signed agreements to stop fighting, but sometimes tensions would rise, like when someone is about to get in trouble! In 1967, Egypt closed off a special sea route that Israel used to get to its port.

This made Israel very worried, like if someone blocked the only way to your favorite playground. Egypt also asked the United Nations peacekeepers to leave their border, which was like saying, "No more grown-ups watching!"

Boom! Zap! Six Days of Action!

One morning, Israel acted super fast! They launched surprise airplane attacks on Egypt's airfields, like a lightning-fast game of tag. Almost all of Egypt's planes were destroyed, giving Israel the sky!

Then, Israel's army moved into Egypt's land, called the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt's leader told his soldiers to leave. Jordan and Syria also joined in, but the fighting was over in just six days.

It was like a super-speedy race where one team zoomed ahead!

Who Got What?

After the quick war, the map changed a lot! Israel ended up controlling new areas: the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the West Bank (where a famous city called Jerusalem is) from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. Think of it like a game of capture the flag, but with whole countries! Sadly, many people had to leave their homes because of the fighting, which made things difficult for them.

A War That Made a Big Splash!

Even though it was short, the Six-Day War was super important. It changed who controlled different parts of the land. It also showed how quickly things could change in that part of the world. The world watched closely as these countries dealt with the new situation. It was a reminder that even short conflicts can have long-lasting effects on many people's lives.
