Sisters of St. Joseph

The Sisters of St. Joseph are like a special club for women who want to help others. They wear a special habit, which is like a uniform, and they promise to be kind and helpful. They are named after Saint Joseph, who was a very good and caring person. This group started way back in France in a town called Le Puy-en-Velay. It’s like a story from a long, long time ago!

Can you believe this group started in 1650? That’s even before your great-great-great-great-grandparents were born! They wanted to make the world a better place by helping people who needed it.

Over many, many years, more and more kind women joined them. They traveled to different places, spreading their kindness and helping communities grow. It’s like a giant game of telephone, but with good deeds!

These amazing sisters are like superheroes for good! They have about 9,500 members all around the world. That’s more people than can fit in a big school auditorium! Lots of them live in the United States and France, but they also help people in 50 other countries. They do all sorts of good things, like teaching kids, caring for the sick, and helping families. They are always ready to lend a hand!

The Sisters of St. Joseph are special because they dedicate their lives to serving others. They believe in helping everyone, no matter what. They are like a big, caring family that works together to make a difference. Their work shows us how important it is to be kind, compassionate, and to always try and help those around us.
