Schaffhausen

Schaffhausen is a super cool town in the north of Switzerland, right next to a big, wide river called the High Rhine. It's one of only four Swiss towns that sits completely on the north side of this amazing river. Think of it like being on one side of a giant slide, and the river is the slide itself!

The weather there is nice, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters, perfect for playing outside or staying cozy inside.

This town is really old and has lots of beautiful buildings from a time called the Renaissance. These buildings have amazing paintings and statues on their outside walls, like giant storybooks! High above the town sits a strong old fortress called the Munot. It looks like a big, round castle keeping watch over everyone. Schaffhausen is a busy place for trains! It's a special stop where train tracks from Switzerland and Germany meet. One of these train lines takes you to see the most incredible sight: the Rhine Falls! These are the biggest waterfalls in all of Europe. They are so huge and powerful, you can feel the spray from far away. It’s like nature’s biggest water park, and it’s super close by!

The people in Schaffhausen speak German, but it's a special Swiss kind of German. They also have their own local way of talking that sounds a bit different and is fun to listen to.
