Sarah Palin is a politician from Alaska, a big state in the northern part of the United States. Imagine a state so big it's like having 5 Californias inside it! She was born a long time ago, on February 11, 1964. Sarah Palin did many interesting jobs in her life. She was a mayor of a town called Wasilla and then became the governor of Alaska. That means she was in charge of the whole state!

Sarah Palin started her political journey by helping her town, Wasilla. She was on the city council and then became the mayor. Being a mayor is like being the principal of a whole town!

Later, she wanted to lead a bigger place, so she ran to be the governor of Alaska. At just 42 years old, she was the youngest person and the first woman ever to be elected governor there. That's like being the captain of the school sports team when you're still in middle school!

One of the most exciting parts of Sarah Palin's career was when she was chosen to run for Vice President of the United States. This is the second-highest job in the country, right after the President! She ran with John McCain in 2008.
