Santiago de Liniers, 1st Count of Buenos Aires

Santiago de Liniers was a super brave soldier who was born in France but became famous in a faraway land called the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. He was so good at his job that people called him a hero! He helped protect the city of Buenos Aires from invaders. Imagine a superhero protecting his city, that was Liniers!

One day, soldiers from Britain tried to take over Buenos Aires. But Liniers was there! He was like a shield for the city, leading the soldiers to push the invaders back. He was so successful that he was made the leader, called a viceroy. He even helped defend the city a second time when the British tried again!

Being a viceroy was a very important job. Liniers had to make sure everything was safe and fair for the people. He was like the captain of a big ship, guiding everyone. Even though he was born in France, he became a super important person in this new land, loved by many for his courage.

Later on, Liniers decided to retire, which means he stopped working. But when new problems came up, he bravely came back to help. Sadly, his story ended with him being captured and executed. But people still remember him as the hero who saved Buenos Aires!
