Russian Revolution of 1905
When Everyone Said 'Enough!'
In 1905, lots of people in Russia were unhappy. They didn't like how their leader, the Tsar, was running things. Workers were tired of long hours and not getting paid enough. Farmers wanted more land. Some people wanted a government where everyone had a say, not just one powerful ruler. It was like a big classroom where everyone wanted to vote on the rules!
Bloody Sunday: A Sad Day
One very sad day, called Bloody Sunday, changed everything. People were marching peacefully to the Tsar's palace to ask for help. But soldiers shot at them! Many people were hurt or killed. This made even more people angry and determined to make changes. It was like if your teacher punished you for asking a question nicely.
Strikes and Shouts Everywhere!
After Bloody Sunday, Russia was buzzing with protests! Workers went on strike, meaning they stopped working to show they were unhappy. Trains stopped running, factories closed, and people shouted for their rights. It was like a giant game of 'freeze' all over the country! Even sailors on a big warship called the Potemkin joined in the protest!
A Little Bit of Freedom!
The Tsar got scared by all the noise and decided to make some changes. He promised people more rights, like freedom to speak their minds and vote for representatives. He even created a parliament, like a big meeting hall for people to discuss ideas. It wasn't everything people wanted, but it was a start! It was like getting a small treat for being good, even if you wanted the whole cake.
