Where the Mountains Meet the Clouds!

Rocky Mountain National Park is like a giant playground way up high in Colorado! It's so big, it stretches between two towns, Estes Park and Grand Lake. The park has super tall mountains, some even taller than a skyscraper! You can find sparkling blue lakes that look like giant puddles and forests filled with tall trees. It's a place where nature shows off its most beautiful art.

A Park Built for Fun!

A long, long time ago, people decided this special place needed to be protected. In 1915, a president made it a national park so everyone could enjoy its beauty. Later, clever builders made a special road called Trail Ridge Road. It winds all the way up the mountains, letting you see amazing views! Millions of people visit every year to hike, see animals, and breathe the fresh mountain air.

Home to Awesome Animals!

This park is like a giant zoo, but the animals are totally wild! You might see big, fuzzy elk with giant antlers, or speedy little chipmunks scampering around. There are also fluffy marmots sunbathing on rocks and tiny pikas gathering grass.

The park has different homes for all these animals, from shady forests to wide-open, windy mountaintops called tundra. It’s important to watch them from a distance and let them live their lives peacefully.

Learning About Our Wild World!

Rocky Mountain National Park is a fantastic place to learn! You can visit special buildings called visitor centers that have cool displays about the animals and plants. Rangers, who are like park superheroes, can teach you all about the mountains and how to be safe.

It’s a giant outdoor classroom where you can discover new things about nature every single day. You can even learn how to protect these amazing places for the future!
