Robert Griffin III

Robert Griffin III, also known as RGIII, is a former American football player. He was a quarterback, which is like the team's captain who throws the ball. He played in a big professional league called the NFL for eight years. People remember him most for playing with the Washington Redskins. He was so good when he started that he won special awards!

Before playing in the NFL, RGIII played college football for the Baylor Bears. He was so fantastic that he won the Heisman Trophy, which is like the biggest award a college football player can get! Imagine winning a trophy bigger than your backpack for being the best at a sport. He was so talented that the Washington Redskins picked him to play for them in the NFL.

When RGIII first joined the NFL, he was incredibly fast and threw the ball with amazing accuracy. He set records for the best rookie passer rating, which means how good he was at throwing the ball. He even led his team to win their division! He was so good that he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was like a superhero on the field!

Even though RGIII had a super exciting start, he had a big injury to his knee. This made it hard for him to play as well as before. He had to work really hard to get better. He played for a few more teams, but injuries kept happening. It shows that even the best athletes face challenges and need to be brave and strong.
