Red Rover

Red Rover is a game played by kids, usually outside on a playground! It's a team game where two lines of players face each other. One team calls out, 'Red Rover, Red Rover, send [player's name] right over!' The player they call runs as fast as they can to try and break through the other team's linked arms.

If they break through, they get to take a player back to their team. If they don't break through, they join the other team!

This game has been around for a long, long time! It used to be played a little differently, with just one person trying to run across. Over the years, kids and families mixed it with other games, making it the team game we know today. It's like building with LEGOs, but with game rules! It changed from a simple run to a more exciting challenge.

The best part of Red Rover is the excitement! You get to run super fast and try to be strong enough to break through a wall of arms. It's also fun to call out your friends and see if they can make it. When you win a player, your team gets bigger and stronger! It’s a game that makes you laugh and cheer.

To play, you need at least 10 people, so grab your friends! Two teams stand far apart, holding hands to make a chain. One team shouts the special call. The runner sprints towards the other team. The goal is to run fast and be strong! If you break the chain, you get to pick someone to join your team. If you don't, you become part of the other team. Keep playing until one team has everyone!
