Reccared I

Once upon a time, in a land called Hispania, there was a king named Reccared I. He was the ruler of the Visigoths, a group of people who lived in that area. Reccared was born around the year 559, which is a super long time ago! He became king in 586 and ruled for about 15 years. He was a very important king because he made a big decision that changed his kingdom forever.

King Reccared had a favorite way of believing in God, called Arianism. But then, he decided to try a different way, called Nicene Christianity. It was like deciding you like pizza more than tacos!
