But deep inside the Earth, heat and pressure squeezed and squished that sand for a super long time, turning it into a super-hard rock called quartzite. Where Did This Rock Come From?

Quartzite is a special kind of rock that comes from sandstone. Sandstone is made of sand grains stuck together. When the Earth's crust moves and pushes rocks around, it creates lots of heat and pressure.
