Meet the Country's Captain!

The Prime Minister of Nepal is like the captain of a big ship, which is the country of Nepal! They are in charge of the government and help make important decisions for everyone. They lead a team called the Council of Ministers, and together they steer the country. It's a very important job that needs a lot of smart thinking and listening to the people!

Where Does the Captain Work?

The Prime Minister has a special house called an official residence in a place called Baluwatar, in the city of Kathmandu. Their office, where they do all their important work, is in a grand building called Singha Darbar. This building has been the Prime Minister's workplace for a very, very long time, even before your grandparents were born!

Superpowers of the Prime Minister!

The Prime Minister has some amazing superpowers! They are the head of the government, which means they are the main executive leader. They need to have the support of the people's representatives in a special group called the Pratinidhi Sabha. If they lose that support, they have to step down, like a player leaving a game. They also rank third in importance in Nepal, which is pretty high up!

A New Leader Steps In!

Sometimes, leaders need to change. Recently, a Prime Minister named KP Sharma Oli had to resign. After that, a very wise person named Sushila Karki, who used to be a chief justice (a very important judge!), stepped in to be the Prime Minister. This shows that even when things change, Nepal keeps moving forward with new leaders.
