He was a very important scientist who helped make Israel a country! Now, the president is chosen by a group called the Knesset, which is like Israel's parliament or big meeting hall. They don't get to be president forever, only for one seven-year term, so new presidents get a chance to lead.

Even though the President doesn't make the big decisions, they are super important for making Israel feel like a united country. They are like the glue that holds everyone together. They meet important visitors from other countries and make them feel welcome.

They also give out special awards to people who do amazing things for Israel. It's like being the most encouraging cheerleader for the whole nation, making sure everyone feels proud and connected.

Everyone in the Knesset gets to cast a vote. The person who gets the most votes becomes the new president. They have to be a good person who everyone can look up to.
