Meet the Dino Superstars!

Imagine giant lizards, speedy hunters, and plant-munching giants! Dinosaurs were a super diverse group of animals that lived a long, long time ago. They were the bosses of the land for over 160 million years!

That's longer than you can even imagine. They stomped around from a time called the late Triassic period all the way to the end of the Cretaceous period. Get ready to learn all about these incredible ancient animals!

When Dinosaurs Ruled the World!

Dinosaurs lived during a time called the Mesozoic Era. This era is split into three parts: the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Dinosaurs first appeared in the Triassic period.

Then, in the Jurassic period, some dinosaurs started to change. They became lighter and grew feathers! These feathered dinosaurs are the ancestors of the birds we see today.

So, when you see a pigeon or a robin, you're looking at a modern-day dinosaur!

Dino Superpowers and Survivors!

Dinosaurs had amazing 'superpowers.' Some were super strong, some were super fast, and some were super big! They ate all sorts of things, from plants to other dinosaurs. But then, a giant event happened that caused most dinosaurs to disappear.

This was called the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. However, not all dinosaurs vanished. The feathered ones, the ancestors of birds, survived and are still with us today!

Why Dinosaurs Still Amaze Us!

Even though dinosaurs aren't around anymore (except for birds!), they are super important to learn about. Studying dinosaur fossils helps us understand what life was like millions of years ago. It tells us how the Earth has changed and how animals have evolved.

Plus, who doesn't love learning about giant T-Rexes or long-necked Brachiosaurus? They spark our imagination and make us wonder about the amazing history of our planet.
