Key Facts
Where the Big Decisions Happen!
The National Assembly is like the main meeting room for South Korea. It's a special building where elected people, called representatives, gather to talk about important things. They discuss new ideas and decide on rules that affect everyone in the country.
Think of it like your classroom where the teacher and students decide on rules for playtime. This building is in a city called Seoul, which is the capital of South Korea. It's a busy place where lots of important work gets done!
Who Gets to Go Inside?
Not just anyone can be a representative! You have to be at least 30 years old, which is much older than you are now. People vote for the representatives they think will do the best job.
Every four years, there's a big election where people choose who they want to send to the National Assembly. It’s like picking your favorite players for a team! There are 300 seats in total, so 300 people get to be representatives.
Making the Rules!
The representatives in the National Assembly have a very important job: making laws. These laws are like instructions for how everyone in South Korea should live and behave. They talk about everything from how schools should work to how roads should be built.
It’s a big responsibility, and they have to think very carefully about what’s best for the country. They meet in a big building to make sure all these important decisions are made together.
A House That Cannot Be Closed!
Once the representatives are chosen, they have a four-year term, like a long school year. A really cool thing is that the President of South Korea cannot just close down the National Assembly. This means the representatives can keep working and making decisions without being told to stop. It’s a way to make sure everyone’s voice can be heard and that important work can continue.
