Mérida is a city tucked away in the Andes Mountains of Venezuela. It sits on a flat spot, like a table, high up in a valley. This valley has a river called the Chama River running through it.

Mérida is famous for having the longest and highest cable car in the whole world! It's called Mukumbarí and it takes you way up the mountains for incredible views. You can see Pico Bolívar, the tallest mountain in Venezuela, which is super snowy and looks like a giant white hat.
Mérida is also a busy place with lots of students because it has a big university. People love to visit because it's beautiful and exciting.
