A Rocky Hill Near a Big City!

Imagine a rocky hill, not super tall, but very important! Mount Arafat is like a big, bumpy rock that’s about as tall as a 15-story building. It sits not too far from a very famous city called Mecca in Saudi Arabia. This hill is made of a special kind of rock called granodiorite. Even though it's not the highest mountain, it's a place that many people visit every year for a very special reason.

Where Stories Come to Life!

Long, long ago, people believed that a very important prophet named Muhammad stood on this hill and gave a special speech. It’s also thought that this might be where Adam and Eve, the very first people, met again after they made a mistake and were forgiven. Because of this, people call it the 'Mountain of Mercy'!

There’s even a marker on top to show where these amazing events are said to have happened.

A Super Important Day!

Mount Arafat is super famous because of a big yearly event called Hajj. On one special day, called the Day of Arafah, thousands and thousands of people climb or go near the mountain. They spend the whole day praying and asking for their mistakes to be forgiven. It’s considered the most important day of the Hajj, like the grand finale of a big celebration!

Lots of People, Lots of Prayers!

During the Day of Arafah, people gather in the valley near Mount Arafat. They listen to a special sermon and pray together. It’s a time for everyone to think, remember, and hope for forgiveness. This hill isn't just a pile of rocks; it's a place filled with hope, history, and a whole lot of faith for many people around the world.
