Monday

Every week, we have seven special days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Monday is the day that comes right after Sunday and before Tuesday. It's like the first step on a staircase, leading you into the rest of your week! Think of it as the official start of school or a busy week for grown-ups. It’s the day that gets everything rolling!

Long, long ago, people looked up at the sky and saw the moon. They thought the moon was very important and named a day after it! In many old languages, like Latin, the word for Monday sounded like 'Moon Day'. So, when you hear Monday, you can imagine it’s a day connected to the moon. It’s a name that has traveled through time, just like the moon travels across the night sky.

Monday is super important because it's the day that starts everything for most people. It’s when school bells ring, and teachers are ready to teach new things. It’s when many parents go back to work after a relaxing weekend.

Without Monday, our weeks might feel a little mixed up! It’s the day that helps us get organized and ready for all the adventures and learning that will happen until the next weekend.

Did you know that some people and even important rules say Monday is the very first day of the week? It’s true! An organization called ISO 8601, which makes rules for how we measure things like time, says Monday is Day 1. So, while Sunday might feel like a cozy end to one week, Monday is the official start of the next. It’s like the starting line for a race!
