The Secret Chatting Hallway!

Welcome to the Members' Lobby, a super special hallway inside a very old building called the Palace of Westminster! It's like a backstage pass for the people who work in the House of Commons, which is a bit like a big club where important decisions are made for the United Kingdom. When they aren't busy talking in the main room, they gather here to have quick chats and plan their next steps.

It's a busy place, full of important people!

Statues of Famous Leaders!

This hallway is also like a museum! It has statues of some of the most famous leaders who used to be in charge, like Winston Churchill, who was a very brave leader during a big war. There are big bronze statues and smaller stone ones. Some of them are so old, their feet are worn down because people have rubbed them for good luck for many, many years! It's like a hall of fame for leaders.

A Place for Important Plans!

The Members' Lobby is right next to the room where all the voting happens. Sometimes, when they are voting, regular people like you and me can't go in. That's because the leaders need to have private discussions. There are special helpers called 'whips' who make sure everyone votes the way their team wants them to. It's a place where plans are made and teams are organized.

Built Back Stronger!

This hallway has a really cool story! During a big war called World War II, bombs fell on the building and parts of it were destroyed. But the people who worked there were super determined and rebuilt it! You can even see a special archway that was damaged by a bomb and they kept it as a reminder of how strong they are. It shows that even after tough times, they kept going.
