Mahathir Mohamad

Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is a very special person from Malaysia. He was like the captain of his country for many, many years!

He was born a long time ago, on July 10, 1925. He studied hard and became a doctor, helping people get better. But he also loved his country and wanted to make it even better.

He became the Prime Minister, which is like the boss of the whole country, not just once, but twice! He was in charge for a total of 24 years, which is longer than you've been alive, and probably longer than your parents have been alive too!

When Dr. Mahathir was Prime Minister, he had big ideas to make Malaysia super modern. He helped build amazing roads, like a giant highway called the North-South Expressway, which is as long as driving from your house to your grandma's house many times over!

He also helped build tall buildings in the city. He wanted Malaysia to be a strong and busy country with lots of factories and jobs. He was so good at making things modern that people called him the 'Father of Modernisation'!

Dr. Mahathir didn't just lead his country; he was also a talented writer! He even wrote a book called 'The Malay Dilemma' to share his thoughts.

And guess what? He's still around and very active in politics even though he's over 90 years old! That's like being a superhero for decades.

He's one of the oldest leaders in the world who is still making a difference. He shows that you can be many things and help your country for a very, very long time.

Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is important because he helped change Malaysia a lot. He made it a more modern place with new roads and buildings.
