He's so good that for a long time, everyone called him the number one golfer in the whole world. He plays on big golf courses in America and Europe, trying to get the best score.

In one amazing year, 2011, Luke Donald was like a superhero of golf! He won so many games and awards that he became the first person ever to be the top money winner in both America and Europe in the same year. That's like winning the biggest prize in two different video games at the same time! He was so good, he stayed number one for almost a whole year.

Did you know Luke Donald was the number one golfer for 40 weeks straight? That's longer than most kids are in school for a whole year! He even won a special award called an MBE, which is like a medal for doing something really great for your country. He's also one of the only golfers to be number one without winning the biggest golf tournaments, which is super tricky!

Even after being a star player, Luke Donald became a captain for a big golf competition called the Ryder Cup. He led his team, Team Europe, to win against Team USA not just once, but twice! He's one of only two captains ever to win the Ryder Cup both at home and away. That means he's a great leader too!
