Lorenzo da Ponte

Lorenzo da Ponte was a very clever man who lived a long, long time ago, from 1749 to 1838. He was like a super storyteller for music! His job was to write the words, called librettos, for operas.

Operas are like plays where people sing all their lines instead of talking. Lorenzo wrote words for some of the most famous operas ever, like 'The Marriage of Figaro' and 'Don Giovanni'. He was born in a town called Ceneda, which is in Italy.
