The Hobbit's Amazing Friends and Foes!

Imagine a land filled with tiny hobbits who love comfy homes, tall dwarves with bushy beards, and even some grumpy trolls! The Hobbit is a story about a grand adventure with lots of different characters. Some are heroes, like the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, and some are not so nice, like the scary dragon Smaug.

Each character has their own special way of talking and acting, making the story super exciting!

There are thirteen dwarves who go on an adventure with Bilbo! They are all brothers and cousins, and they love treasure. Thorin Oakenshield is their leader, and he's very brave.

Some of the other dwarves are named Balin, Dwalin, Fili, Kili, and Bombur. Bombur is a very big dwarf who loves to eat! They all have long beards and wear pointy hats.

They are not as tall as humans, but they are strong and good fighters.

Gandalf is a very important wizard who helps Bilbo and the dwarves. He has a long grey beard, a pointy hat, and a magic staff. He knows a lot of secrets and can do amazing spells. There are also elves, who are beautiful and live in forests, and humans, who are like us! Even some friendly eagles help out when things get tough. Everyone has a part to play in this big adventure.

Not everyone in The Hobbit is friendly. There are goblins who live underground and love to cause trouble. They are mean and ugly.

Then there is Smaug, a giant, fire-breathing dragon who stole all the treasure from the dwarves. He sleeps on a pile of gold and is very greedy. There are also trolls who are big, dumb, and turn to stone in the sunlight.

These characters make the adventure dangerous and exciting!
