Meet the KIO Towers!

Have you ever seen two tall buildings that look like they're about to fall over? That's the KIO Towers! They are in a city called Madrid in Spain.

These buildings are super famous because they lean towards each other at a funny angle. They look like they're whispering secrets to each other from way up high! It's like a giant playground game of 'lean too far' but these buildings are built to stay up!

How They Got Their Funny Lean

These amazing towers weren't always leaning. They were built a long time ago, starting in 1996 and finishing in 2005. The people who designed them wanted something special.

They decided to make the buildings lean inwards. Each tower leans about 15 degrees! That's more than half of how much a slide leans.

They used special engineering to make sure they wouldn't fall over, even with their funny tilt.

Why Are They So Cool?

The KIO Towers are special because they are the first buildings in the world to lean this much! They are super tall, almost as tall as 40 school buses stacked up. One tower is 114 meters high, and the other is 100 meters high. Their leaning design makes them a famous landmark. People come from all over to see these unique buildings. They show us that buildings can be art too!

What's Inside These Leaning Giants?

Even though they look like they're playing a game, the KIO Towers are actually very busy buildings. Inside, there are offices where people work. They have elevators that take people up and down. They also have parking garages underneath. So, while they look like they're just leaning, they are actually very useful buildings that are part of the city's busy life.
