Where is Scotland's Castle?

Scotland is like a big, beautiful puzzle piece at the very top of an island called Great Britain. It has the big, splashy Atlantic Ocean on one side and the North Sea on the other. For a long, long time, it was its own country with its own kings and queens, like a giant, amazing playground all to itself! It shared a fence, called a border, with its neighbor, England, to the south.

Knights and Kings of Long Ago!

This kingdom started way back in the year 843, which is super old! Kings and queens ruled Scotland, and sometimes they had to be very brave, especially when they needed to protect their land. They built amazing castles that still stand today! Scotland and England sometimes had arguments, like kids on a playground, but Scotland always tried its best to stay independent and free.

What Did They Do All Day?

People in Scotland loved their language, which sounded a bit like singing! They also loved stories and music. They had special ways of celebrating holidays and important events. Many people worked on farms, growing food, or were skilled craftspeople making things. They also loved to sail the seas and explore!

Scotland's Big Change!

For many years, Scotland was its own country. But then, a king of Scotland also became the king of England! Later, the two countries decided to join together and become one big country called Great Britain. It was like two friends deciding to share their toys and play together all the time, but Scotland kept its own special ways.
