Kevin Willard didn't just start coaching. First, he was a player! He played basketball at a college called Western Kentucky.

Then, he moved to another college called Pittsburgh to keep playing. After that, he decided he loved basketball so much he wanted to help others play. He started by helping a famous coach named Rick Pitino with a professional team, the Boston Celtics.

Coach Willard is really good at helping teams win! At a college called Iona, he took a team that wasn't winning much and made them win a lot more games. Then, at Seton Hall University, he led his team to win a big championship called the Big East championship!
