She was known for her beautiful style and her love for flowers, especially roses. She lived in fancy castles and helped make them look amazing with art and pretty decorations. She even had a famous rose garden!

A Life Full of Surprises!

Joséphine's life was like a thrilling story! Before she met Napoleon, she was married to another man named Alexandre. Sadly, her first husband passed away during a very scary time called the Reign of Terror.

Joséphine was even put in prison! But she was very brave and later met Napoleon. They fell in love, and he wrote her many sweet letters.

Even though they later separated, she remained a very influential person.

The Empress Who Loved Roses

One of Joséphine's favorite things was her amazing rose garden at her home, the Château de Malmaison. She spent a lot of time making sure her roses were the most beautiful they could be. She was so good at it that her garden became famous!

She also loved collecting beautiful art, like paintings and sculptures, and worked with artists to decorate her homes. She had a special style that people still talk about today.

Her Family Tree is HUGE!

Even though Joséphine didn't have any children with Napoleon, she had children from her first marriage. And guess what? Her grandchildren became emperors and queens too!

One grandson became Emperor Napoleon III of France, and her granddaughter became Empress Amélie of Brazil. Today, many royal families in countries like Sweden, Denmark, and Belgium are related to Joséphine. She's like the great-great-great-grandma to lots of important people!
