Even though he was a bit shorter than some other players, like a tall playground slide, he was incredibly quick and exciting to watch.

He played for many years in a big league called the NHL, making fans cheer with every move.

Johnny started playing hockey when he was young, just like many kids play sports. He went to college and played for a team called the Boston College Eagles. He was so good that a professional team, the Calgary Flames, picked him to play for them!

He played for them for a long time, and then he moved to another team, the Columbus Blue Jackets, for his last games. He was like a star player in a super-popular video game!

Johnny Gaudreau was special because he showed everyone that you don't have to be the biggest to be the best. He was smaller than many hockey players, but he used his speed and skill to be amazing. He won awards for being the best player and the most polite player, which means he played fair and was a good sport.

Sadly, Johnny Gaudreau's life ended too soon. He and his brother were on their bikes one day when something very tragic happened. A car driven by someone who had been drinking crashed into them.
