He wrote exciting newspapers and pamphlets to share his ideas. He wanted everyone to be treated fairly. He was a very strong voice for the people who didn't have much power.

His writing was very strong and sometimes angry, but it made people listen. He talked about what was right and wrong during this time of big changes in France.
A Sad Ending to His Story
Sadly, Marat had a skin problem that made him take baths a lot. One day, while he was in his bath, a woman named Charlotte Corday came to see him. She was upset with him and his ideas. She hurt him, and he died on July 13, 1793. It was a very shocking event during the revolution. Charlotte Corday was punished for what she did.
Remembered Like a Hero!
Even though his life ended sadly, many people remembered Marat as a hero. They thought he was a martyr, someone who died for their beliefs. A famous painter even made a beautiful picture of him after he died, showing him in his bath. He became a symbol for many people who wanted a fairer world.
