Meet the Chocolate Kings!

Once upon a time, in a place called Bristol in England, a family started making yummy chocolate. This was way back in 1761! The boss of the family was a man named Joseph Storrs Fry. He and his family were so good at making chocolate that they started a company called J. S. Fry & Sons. They made so much chocolate that it became famous all over the place!

The Invention of the Chocolate Bar!

Guess what? Fry's invented something super cool: the first solid chocolate bar! Before this, chocolate was mostly a drink. Imagine a chocolate bar that you could just unwrap and eat! In 1847, they made this amazing invention. Then, in 1866, they made Fry's Chocolate Cream, which was the very first chocolate bar made for lots and lots of people to buy and enjoy.

Yummy Treats from Fry's!

Fry's didn't just stop at chocolate bars. They also made the first sweet filled with chocolate! These were called Cream Sticks and came out in 1853. Another super famous treat they made was Fry's Turkish Delight. It's a soft, chewy, and sweet chocolatey treat that many people still love today. It's like a treasure chest of chocolatey surprises!

Chocolate Buddies!

Fry's was one of the biggest chocolate makers in Britain for a very long time. They were like the 'big three' chocolate friends, along with Cadbury and Rowntree's. All these chocolate companies were started by kind people called Quakers.

Later on, Fry's became part of Cadbury, another famous chocolate company. So, even though Fry's isn't making chocolate on its own anymore, their yummy ideas live on!
